Pretty things...

So I have a slight obsession with interior decorating.  I was cleaning up some desktop space this morning and came across these pictures, I have a million of these for my "dream house" one day, but here are some of my favorites:

Easter Weekend

I LOVE Easter.  It's just such a relaxing and easy holiday.  When I was growing up, I was extremely competitive with my sisters.  I would peek out the window at the crack of dawn and watch the "Easter bunny" (Dad) hide the eggs.  I also had an advantage because I was the athlete of the family (just sayin. haha!).

I also love Easter because of the message we are reminded of.  That Jesus died for us so we can be saved from our sins.  I'm so amazed that he did that for ME.  Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve that kind of love. But I do. We all do.  I am reminded that no matter what I do, he'll never turn his back on me.

Here are some pictures of the week:

Here we are!! Our official Easter pic of 2010.  Weston took off his tie and seersucker jacket the second we sat down at church, I have greasy hair from cleaning my house like crazy, Clint is sunburned. We don't match. Love it :)
My beautiful momma! Our faces were red from crying during church... there were some amazing testimonies!

My mom helped me get ready for lunch!  All 30 of us came to my house.
First things first, we needed an Easter greeting on the chalk board wall :)

Weston has been pretty sick all weekend but still managed to be a happy boy!!!
I never knew a kid who loved tractors so much. I splurged for Easter and bought him the expensive metal ones from Tractor Supply.  Those puppy's cost $6 a pop. But it was worth it... as you can see, they went everywhere today.

Lately..

Weston being a boy is always outside.  Every morning around 7:30, you can find me in my backyard with my pajama's on and a cup of coffee.  I'm either following monkey around, or taking him on a tractor ride (on the 4-wheeler). We got creative the other day and rode our play cars down a small little hill.  We did this about 500 times.  I thought to myself, "Oh! I can blog about this!" and got my camera out to take a video.  Then, this happened:

Wes is fine. he actually did a very graceful flip over the rocks and on the weeds.  Now he just pushes the car instead of riding it.

and since I just figured out (again) how to post video's, here are some more I've taken over the last few days:

To Do: PLAYROOM

Ever since we moved here, we've had a bit of an open living floor plan dilema.  Every room is in full view the second you walk into the front door. It's very hard to keep the house in "drop-in" condition.  So here's our genious solution:  we are planning on closing in the garage and turning it into a playroom.  We have the shop in the back so if we ever needed to re-sell... that could be considered the garage.  We are slowly cleaning out the junk that resides in the garage and hopefully, by this summer we will be finished with this big project.

The major things on our list of to do are:

- remove the garage door
- build a wall to close in where the garage door was
- build side entry door
- add matching rock wall on the outside of the house
- insulate east wall
- extend air unit and add a vent
- remove trashy florescent lights and add recessed lighting
- fan
- wood laminate flooring
- replace door to house with an indoor door
- PAINT!

thats not too bad, right? And with my husband and our two dads we they can get it knocked out in a jiffy!  I'm SO excited and I can't wait to start decorating!!! Here is some inspiration I've found online:

Pottery Barn Kids

I love this room! I think I could paint those trees on there myself.  And I found this cool website...ahh-mazing!!! You can download the plans for these book shelves for free and then have your husband build them for 1/3 the cost.  I'll take 3 of these bookcases, thank you!

I'd love feedback... anyone got any more ideas for our room???

Disney on Ice

This has been one crazy but unforgettable week! My oldest sister, Missy, was in town for spring break. So we packed in as much as we could for the week! The kids saw the dinosaurs at the Witte, Landa Park, Sea World, Emerald Rainbow bouncy gym, and story time at the Library. On Saturday we went to see Disney on ice at the Alamo dome. The kids were SO excited. It was a little scary for Weston at times but overall was a fantastic show. His favorite part was during intermission. The "tractor" came and cleaned the ice. Here are some pics:

here is all of us (minus mimi) walking to our seats. Redo, Cassie open your EYES...

Yes wes, those are mommy's eyes.

We hadn't planned on wearing grey sweaters with jeans. But we always do that... so weird!

The show was amazing...

I laugh at myself. I snarked at all the moms that were buying their kids overpriced junk at the Disney booth... you know... the moms that would rather foster spoiled brats and go broke doing it than hear their kid whine because they can't get everything they want. yep.... I am one of them!! But the $18 toy was well worth it. Here is Weston taking his beloved horsey for a ride. His name is Na Na Cake.

Trip to Sea World

So I didn't get too many pictures but that was party due to the fact that the entire city was there today and I didn't want to get trampled if I stopped to fiddle with my diaper bag. We DID have a blast though. My sisters, my mom, and I marched around the place like we owned it with 4 kiddos and 1 map. oh, and 3 strollers too! We saw all the shows and even made it to the kiddy park. I think Weston enjoyed Shamu the most (or Shampoon as my niece calls it.). When it first came out, he jumped up and down in my lap yelling "tiiiiish" (fish. close enough.)! I cry every time I watch that show for some reason.. I get so much joy watching my sweet boy experience all those firsts. Anyways, here are a few pics of us waiting for shamu:
