Lately..

Weston being a boy is always outside.  Every morning around 7:30, you can find me in my backyard with my pajama's on and a cup of coffee.  I'm either following monkey around, or taking him on a tractor ride (on the 4-wheeler). We got creative the other day and rode our play cars down a small little hill.  We did this about 500 times.  I thought to myself, "Oh! I can blog about this!" and got my camera out to take a video.  Then, this happened:

Wes is fine. he actually did a very graceful flip over the rocks and on the weeds.  Now he just pushes the car instead of riding it.

and since I just figured out (again) how to post video's, here are some more I've taken over the last few days:

To Do: PLAYROOM

Ever since we moved here, we've had a bit of an open living floor plan dilema.  Every room is in full view the second you walk into the front door. It's very hard to keep the house in "drop-in" condition.  So here's our genious solution:  we are planning on closing in the garage and turning it into a playroom.  We have the shop in the back so if we ever needed to re-sell... that could be considered the garage.  We are slowly cleaning out the junk that resides in the garage and hopefully, by this summer we will be finished with this big project.

The major things on our list of to do are:

- remove the garage door
- build a wall to close in where the garage door was
- build side entry door
- add matching rock wall on the outside of the house
- insulate east wall
- extend air unit and add a vent
- remove trashy florescent lights and add recessed lighting
- fan
- wood laminate flooring
- replace door to house with an indoor door
- PAINT!

thats not too bad, right? And with my husband and our two dads we they can get it knocked out in a jiffy!  I'm SO excited and I can't wait to start decorating!!! Here is some inspiration I've found online:

Pottery Barn Kids

I love this room! I think I could paint those trees on there myself.  And I found this cool website...ahh-mazing!!! You can download the plans for these book shelves for free and then have your husband build them for 1/3 the cost.  I'll take 3 of these bookcases, thank you!

I'd love feedback... anyone got any more ideas for our room???

Disney on Ice

This has been one crazy but unforgettable week! My oldest sister, Missy, was in town for spring break. So we packed in as much as we could for the week! The kids saw the dinosaurs at the Witte, Landa Park, Sea World, Emerald Rainbow bouncy gym, and story time at the Library. On Saturday we went to see Disney on ice at the Alamo dome. The kids were SO excited. It was a little scary for Weston at times but overall was a fantastic show. His favorite part was during intermission. The "tractor" came and cleaned the ice. Here are some pics:

here is all of us (minus mimi) walking to our seats. Redo, Cassie open your EYES...

Yes wes, those are mommy's eyes.

We hadn't planned on wearing grey sweaters with jeans. But we always do that... so weird!

The show was amazing...

I laugh at myself. I snarked at all the moms that were buying their kids overpriced junk at the Disney booth... you know... the moms that would rather foster spoiled brats and go broke doing it than hear their kid whine because they can't get everything they want. yep.... I am one of them!! But the $18 toy was well worth it. Here is Weston taking his beloved horsey for a ride. His name is Na Na Cake.

Trip to Sea World

So I didn't get too many pictures but that was party due to the fact that the entire city was there today and I didn't want to get trampled if I stopped to fiddle with my diaper bag. We DID have a blast though. My sisters, my mom, and I marched around the place like we owned it with 4 kiddos and 1 map. oh, and 3 strollers too! We saw all the shows and even made it to the kiddy park. I think Weston enjoyed Shamu the most (or Shampoon as my niece calls it.). When it first came out, he jumped up and down in my lap yelling "tiiiiish" (fish. close enough.)! I cry every time I watch that show for some reason.. I get so much joy watching my sweet boy experience all those firsts. Anyways, here are a few pics of us waiting for shamu:

I'm Baaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes, it's true. It's been OVER a year since I made a post. Mostly to do with the fact that I have been chasing around this little man all over the planet. But I really want to get back into this. I want to share my thoughts, inspirations and ideas. This is not only going to be a post about my darling little family (that I adore!). But more of a scrapbook of all the things I love. Like DecOraTing! and fashion and cooking.... being a wife, a mom, a daughter and friend.... my journey as a christian... my crazy OCD ways and fun tips I've picked up along the way. I'll admit, I am a HUGE copy cat when it comes to decorating. I have a serious problem stealing ideas and making them my own but I'll always be honest where they came from :)

Startin' early

Weston is sleeping great in his new bedroom! He is still unsure where he is when he wakes up hungry so his cry is a little more frantic than usual but he's adjusting well. I am to the one to blame for his sleepless nights the past two days. I've begun the you're-not-preggy-any-more-so-stop-looking-like-it crusade and that includes eating LOTS of gross veggies, which in turn, gives me gassy milk. I'm sure you don't want the rest of the details but it gives little Wes a tummy ache :(

But the GOOD news is... Weston is going to be a baby model! The designer of an adorable baby brand called Caden Lane also owns a boutique here in San Antonio- which happens to be my favorite store so I'm in there all the time. The company is creating a new layette line called "Pity Shants" and he is going to be their cover baby for the catalog, website, and merchandise tags. I'm so excited and can't wait to share pictures!! The shoot is next Tuesday, pray that he's not fussy or doesn't have one of his signature "blow outs".

First nap in the BIG BOY nursery!

So tonight is going to be Weston's FIRST night in his own bedroom. He has been sleeping in our room ever since we came home from the hospital. The cradle (in our room) was supposed to be big enough for a 6 month old but apparently they don't accomodate big babies. The past few weeks I would wake up and either a leg or an arm would be stuck in a slat so we thought it was time. Although I know Weston will eventually sleep much more sound in the crib, I have a feeling I will be sleeping on his floor tonight... he has already woken up twice and it's only 8pm :(

4 Month update

Weston went to his 4 month check up Monday and it was all good news once again! Dr. Albrecht is so sweet, I think he has a special bond with Weston since he was his last baby to deliver (he gave up his license and is now strictly family practice). He said Wes is waaay ahead for his age (he's probably going to be ridiculously smart!). Joking aside, he can already hold his head on his own, can turn from front to back and vise verse, can ALMOST sit on his own, makes great eye contact, and can talk up a storm. He now weighs 17.2 lbs and is 26 inches long (85% in his age grp). Just to give you some kind of reference, our friends baby (although she is petite for her age) just turned one and weighs 19 lbs. BUT, he IS a boy too so that does make a bit of a difference. Then there's the fact that we breed on the intent of raising the next Earl Campbell or Barry Sanders.

Weston also got his shots this week. Speaking of shots, they are one of my big worries for little Wes. There are a million different ways to do them (timing, grouping etc.) and every way has it's pros and con's but we decided not to delay them. Yes, it can cause Autism but the odds are against us and it hasn't even been proven completely that the two are linked together. The thing that scared me the most, I think, was the rising number of infant disease and death due to an increasing number of families delaying vaccines.

What else is new... oh yes! Weston is sleeping until 8:00 am!!! He still wakes up at 5, but if I nurse him and put him into bed with me then I can get another 3 hours out of him. This makes a HUGE difference for mommas sanity :)

The Holidays

Weston has grown so much and is learning all kinds of new things. But first off, here are a few pictures from the holidays to catch you up.
This was taken over Thanksgiving at my Memaw's ranch. We had hoped to use them for Christmas cards but Weston didn't like any of his poses so we used a baptism one instead (which never got sent out, long story.)

The whole gang!

You should have seen the other end of this picture... imagine all 8 of us (plus a few cousins) twirling/dancing/singing/cooing/cock-a-doodle-doing just so we could get a good shot. And all we got was 3 babies giving a judgemental scowl.
future Longhorn. I love this one!
Brooks learned how to give kisses. Which, as you can see here, is more of a french kiss.

Memaw and her boy!

Weston's new sleep position, so cute!

Clint's co-pilot

Visiting Papaw J.O. and Grandma Trish (Clint's Grandparents)

My favorite picture ever! This was taken after Weston got baptised. It was such a special day!

proud parents :) He didn't even cry when our Pastor dunked him.

Tree watching. Westons favorite pasttime during the holidays.

Could their profiles be any more alike? I love it!

Happy boy.

We slept through our first Santa encounter.

I still get a little emotional when I see Clint with his son. Clint is such a wonderful dad and loves our little boy SOOO much. Weston loves him like crazy too. I wish you could see his face and hear the happy noises he makes every time he sees him! We have waited for what feels like forever to start a family and now that we have it's just surreal.
