What a week! We were thrilled because My sister and her family came in town to visit. The three of us sisters woke up early Saturday morning ready to shop. Each with a baby in hand, we found ourselves sitting in the Target dressing room floor catching up. No matter where we are, we always find somewhere to lounge and visit, haha.

Later that day, we went to our friends Nate and Bridgett's house to celebrate their son's 3rd birthday. Chance is really into John Deer Tractors right now so everything from napkins to presents were tractor themed. He was so excited when he walked into the garage and saw his first motorized car.

2 month check-up

We went to our two-month checkup Monday and it was all good news! Weston is a happy healthy baby :)

…and speaking of healthy. Yes, he is eating WELL! Here are the latest stats:

Weight: 13 lbs. 11 oz.
Length: 23 3/4 inches

The Dr. said it's obvious he's breastfeeding, he's just exploding! He said he’s very healthy and is in the 90th percentile in both height and weight. He’s not too chubbs though since he’s growing a lot in length too; it’s proportional.

He also got his shots ( DTaP, Hib, Polio (IPV), Pneumoccoal (PCV), Rotavirus). I am kind of on the fence with Wes getting a lot of shots at once since they have been linked to Autism. I've been reading a lot about Dr. Bocks methods. He is a DAN doctor. He is not anti-vaccination but has a delayed schedule that I like quite a bit. I will probably delay his MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) shots since these are the 3 that are most likely linked to Autism.

Dr. Albrecht was asking about milestones for two month old and asked if he was smiling and cooing. I said, “oh yeah.” A minute later, he laid him on the table to check his stuffy nose and, sure enough, Weston smiled really big and cooed at him the whole time. Such a happy little guy. It made me feel good when he said, “You’re doing a really great job with him.” before he left the room.

...and we're sleeping! The past few nights, Weston has slept 6-7.5 hour stretches. I think we’ve turned the leaf! Woo hoo! He usually goes to bed around 7:30 which is nice because Clint and I can have some alone time (I can't wait for it, actually!). He'll usually wake up around 3ish to nurse and then he'll sleep until 6 or so.

WOW.

I think Senator Orin Hatch said it best last night when he told a reporter (just before it was confirmed Obama would be our president), "I like Senator Obama. I think he's charismatic and articulate....but he's also very young and very inexperienced and that worries me a little." I'll admit, that worries me a lot. And according to polls last night, it also worries 42% of Americans. All I can do now is hope the best for him as our President. I usually don't talk about political stuff (even though I have a strong opinion about who I'd like as President) but I couldn't stop thinking about this last night. Athough I'm not happy about the results, thank goodness this election is over! I'm so sick of hearing about change and policy's I don't agree with. Things are about to get interesting in the White House, and like I said...I truly hope the best for him and the decisions he makes for our Country.

Happy Halloween!

Grammy Cindy and Memaw bought these cute pumpkin outfits for Weston. I thought they would be WAY too big for him but he has grown a ton and they fit! He is seriously getting so tall none of the NB clothes fit anymore. The 0-3 barely fit and 3-6 are still a little big but I love that he can almost start wearing more of these cute outfits we have for him! I went in and weighed him in the doctor's office. At his 2 week appt he weighed 8 lbs, 12 oz. When I went in last Saturday (about 7 1/2 weeks old) and he weighed 13 lbs 10 oz! That seemed like a lot of weight for him to gain in 5 weeks. I love that he is getting chubby now and has the cute double chin and chubby legs, however I don't think my back is liking it quite as much! :) Clint went to the Ranch last night so my mom and I got to stay home and pass out candy with Weston. This is the first year we stayed home, and I thought it was so much fun to see all the cute little kids and their costumes! Some parents are just so creative, I love it!

Haha! I had to put these up, I'm not sure if these were taken on Halloween or not but as you can see... most of our costumes were an invention from our imagination.

Clint went to Cuero last weekend so I spent the day with my parents. We went house hunting (they're thinking about moving) and then to lunch at a cute little restaraunt near my house called Buck and Ozzy's. We had fun goofing off all day, here are some pic's:

My dad calls him dracula because I am always covering his eye's from bright lights and the sun. He caught me eyeing the huge light the was above and started to laugh. He read my mind when I was thinking it was too bright for Weston, hence the silly picture.

Learned something new

Weston was very fussy the other night and nothing seemed to calm him. After sending Clint to the store to get saline drops for his stuffy nose he still wouldn't calm down. So, as a last resort we loaded him in the stroller and went for a walk in the dark. It worked! He was sound asleep by the time we got home.

All snuggled up. It was a little airish so I bundled him like it was freezing outside (it was probably in the 70's). Clint hinted I was being over protective but like mom always said, "better safe than sorry."

It is the sweetest thing to watch all the cousins play together (Brooks& Logan, we miss you!). My niece Chandler calls Weston "bebe West" and thinks he's her little doll, it's hilarious! Here she is giving kisses and rocking her baby:

Big Boy Happenings

Time is going by too fast, I seriously feel like I'm not getting enough pictures. My computer keeps telling me the memory is low but I don't care... uploading 200 pictures a week is totally necessary. Weston is now weighing 13.6 pounds and is 23 inches long! Here are some updates:

- He can lift his head on his own but only for a few seconds. Then he gets tired and bangs his nose on my shoulder. If he's upset, he'll head bang me really hard so he can get the point across.

- He has rolled over twice on his play gym. The first time I had to help him a little but that evening I was showing Clint and he did it again all on his own.

- He only cries when he's hungry or has a dirty diaper which is great compared to some stories I hear. I am beginning to tell the difference between the two cries. His hungry cry is more like a whimper and his poopy cry is more of a wailing.

- He sleeps most of the night... we've even had a couple nights where he didn't wake up once! Every time he sleeps through the night I panic when I see the clock. I'm still a little paranoid he's going to starve to death.

- He is smiling now! This is one of the most rewarding parts about being a mommy. Seeing him react to Clint and I is so special and it melts my heart to see him with Clint.

- After a nap when he's still groggy, he will only open one eye just enough to see what's going on. I finally got a pic of the funny face.

- We are traveling all over town and he's my little trooper. He loves his car seat and is getting a hang out of nursing anywhere and everywhere- the car, the dressing room at Marshall's, even the wax room at Anne's Nails- the Chinese love him! Every time I hear, "ooooh, he getting so big". I'm like, "ya, you saw him last week lady, he's not that much bigger".

Weston's Big Day!

The delivery was so amazing and easy. I had the best experience and I can't believe I lost sleep agonizing over d-day. We were scheduled to be induced Tuesday, September 2nd. I woke up that morning and not even 5 minutes later my water broke. Once we got to the hospital things moved very quickly. I got the epidural around 8:00 and was fully dialated around 11:00. Weston was born at 12:19 pm, he weighed 8.8 lbs, and was 19.5 inches long.

Nursery

The nursery is very special to me. My mom and I picked out the fabric from a boutique in San Antonio called Cowgirls and Lace. She made the bedding and curtains for me. I will always remember the countless hours she spent in my dining room stitching away. The frame on the wall is also important. My whole pregnancy I talked about this quote from Maureen Hawkins and how it portrayed my feeling towards Weston. I was so busy (and tired) that I forgot all about it. Days before I was due, Cindy (my mother-in-law) surprised me with a frame that had the quote on it. Needless to say, it is also a special part of Weston's room. Here are some pics:
